AskBH ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit or use our mobile and web applications (collectively, the "Service"). a. Personal Information

• Registration Data: Email address, display name (optional), and password

• Profile Information: Profile photo (optional)

• Contact Details: Phone number (used for marketplace, report lost/found and job listings)

• Location Information: City or area selection for marketplace, jobs, and lost & found listings

• Anonymous Sign-In: Users may access the app as a guest using Firebase's anonymous sign-in. In this case, a unique, non-identifiable user ID is generated by Firebase to enable temporary usage of the app without personal data such as email or name.

  Even for users who sign in anonymously, certain data such as usage activity and device identifiers may be associated with a temporary Firebase-generated ID.

b. User-Generated Content

• Marketplace Listings: Item descriptions, prices, photos, service offerings

• Job Portal Data: Job titles, descriptions, requirements, experience, education, language preferences, skills

• Lost & Found Reports: Item details, photos, location, and date information

• AI Assistant Queries: Text input and interaction logs

c. Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: Features used, pages/screens viewed, time spent on the app

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers

• Log Data: IP address, browser type (when using the web version), access times, pages viewed

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your information to provide, improve, and personalize our Service:

• Service Delivery: Authenticate users, manage accounts, and facilitate listings in the marketplace, job, and lost & found sections

• AI Assistant: Process your queries and provide relevant recommendations for products, services, jobs, and lost & found items

• Personalization: Tailor content, listings, and in-app notifications based on your preferences and interactions

• Communication: Send in-app notifications about your listings, applications, reports, and service updates

• Analytics & Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience

• Guest Access: Anonymous sign-in allows users to try the app without registration. Basic usage data is collected to ensure functionality and app performance

3. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With Other Users: Listings and reports may display your username, contact info, or location

• Service Providers: Third-party tools used include:

  • Firebase (Google LLC): Authentication, database, cloud functions

  • Cloudinary: Image storage and optimization

  • OpenAI: Powers AI assistant features

  • Expo: App deployment and updates

• Legal Requirements: To comply with applicable laws and regulations

• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

4. Data Security

We implement security measures such as:

• Secure authentication via Firebase

• Encrypted data transmission

• Access controls

• Routine security assessments

However, no method of data transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices and Rights

• Account Info: Update your personal data in settings

• Notifications:  notification preferences within the app

• Content Deletion: Remove your listings, jobs, or reports at any time

• Account Deletion: Delete your account directly from the settings section

• Request data portability

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. After account deletion, we may retain minimal information for compliance and security purposes.

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 12. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 12 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 12, we will delete such data promptly.
